Roper Mountain Science Center presented the Upstate's third annual Blueberry Festival Saturday. Taking place from 9 AM until 1 PM, you could find more than 1,200 people walking around and enjoying sites and cuisine made from the small, blue, berry.
Education Curator, Michael Weeks said that the event was created to bring attention to local foods, farms and Roper Mountain Science Center and within three years it has grown, remaining to be the Upstate's only Blueberry Festival according to Weeks.
"I just think that they are pretty", one blueberry pie maker said, "all the lattices and all the time that goes into making them a work of art… an edible work of art".
