The boil water advisory for the town of Pendleton was lifted Monday morning.

Pendleton Water Works repealed the advisory that was put in effect on Saturday. Samples of the water were tested and found to be safe to use for drinking and cooking.

Update by Fred Cunningham

Pendleton Water Works has issued a boil water advisory for the entire town.  Officials tell 7 On Your Side the advisory was instituted due to pressure that was lost due to a water line break.   Residents should rigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.   In addition, public works says that any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

Public Works officials say that water testing results may be back on Monday.   After the results are returned then a determination will be made as to when it is safe to use water in the town.
