SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -

Courtney Lamont Pauling, 26, of Spartanburg was arrested Sunday morning in connection with multiple robberies throughout Spartanburg County. According to a report released by the Spartanburg Sheriff's Office, several businesses including a Domino's Pizza, Lil Cricket and Kangaroo Express were all targeted by Pauling over the course of the last few weeks.

Investigators used multiple surveillance videos to connect Pauling to the string of crimes, in conjunction with a witness who confirmed Pauling as well as Pauling's voice and a vehicle in video obtained by the Sheriff's Office.

Reports indicated that on Saturday night, an undercover officer followed a silver Pontiac Grand Prix, when Pauling exited the passenger side discharging several rounds at the officer. The vehicle was later stopped by other officers in which Pauling excited the vehicle's passenger side holding a gun shortly before fleeing.

Police arrested two other passengers in the vehicle, one for the unlawful possession of a firearm and the other for possession with the intent to deliver marijuana.

The witness confirmed to police that Pauling was in possession of the vehicle on the dates that are in question pertaining to the robberies.

Pauling had three outstanding warrants in Spartanburg and faces several additional charges including attempted armed robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and attempted murder for discharging rounds in the direction of the undercover officer.

Pauling was later charged with three additional armed robberies.
