Upstate Protest of Zimmerman Verdict in Greenville

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, S.C. -

Community activist Traci Fant organized this protest of the George Zimmerman "not guilty" verdict Sunday afternoon in Greenville.

The protest happened in the courtyard at the Peace Center.

Fant is hoping something can be done in the courts in the wake of Saturday's verdict.

"We would like to see something happen. Some type of reversal. Something in the court system. Someone to pick up the ball," Fant says. "Hopefully he will get a wrongful death suit. We want something to come out of this because right now we feel empty handed."

A crowd of around 75 to 100 people showed up for Sunday afternoon's protest.
