The WorkLink Workforce Investment Board announces a new way for employers and job seekers to access employment and training services through the SC Works WorkLink Employment Centers in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties beginning July 15th.

As a result of the U.S. Department of Labor sequestration and budget cuts, the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce introduced a new model for unemployment insurance delivery that went into action on June 10, 2013. This change led the WorkLink Workforce Investment Board to make strategic decisions on how best to deliver employment and training services to the public.

Services for employers and job seekers will be re-located from the Seneca SC Department of Employment and Workforce building located at 11091 North Radio Station Road to the Tri-County Technical College QuickJobs Development Center located at the Oconee Campus at the Hamilton Career Center in Seneca.

The same services will also be re-located from the Liberty SC Department of Employment and Workforce building located at 317 Summit Drive to the Tri-County Technical College QuickJobs Development Centers located at the Easley Campus. All services will be officially re-located and available to the public on July 15, 2013. Hours of operation for the new locations will be 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (except for major holidays).

All services offered in Anderson will remain at the SC Department of Employment and Workforce building located at 309 West Whitner until early fall of 2013. The WorkLink Workforce Investment Board plans to re-locate job seeker and employer services offered at the West Whitner Street address to the Tri-County Technical College QuickJobs Development Center located at the Anderson Campus upon its official opening in October 2013.

Additionally, a centrally-located comprehensive SC Works WorkLink Employment Center offering expanded services will be located in Clemson. The anticipated opening of the centrally located SC Works WorkLink Employment Center is also slated for fall of 2013.

Employers and claimants seeking information on Unemployment Insurance may access services by calling the toll free number: 1-866-831-1724 or by visiting: mybenefits.dew.sc.gov. No in-person UI services will be provided at the recently announced Liberty UI Call Center.

Job seekers visiting any of the SC Works WorkLink Employment Centers will be able access the following services: job placement assistance; information on career paths and opportunities; internet access; workshops; resume writing; fax/phone access; career counselors; training opportunities; and community resources for those in need.
