PICKENS, SC -

One person is dead after a wreck in Pickens County Monday afternoon.

The wreck happened at 4:01 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 133 and Lakeside Road.

According to Lance Cpl. Brent Kelly of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, 18-year-old James William Keith Horn, of Six Mile, was driving a motorcycle south on Highway 133 when he went thru a intersection and crossed over the center line. Kelly said that Horn then sideswiped a oncoming pickup truck driven by 60-year-old Greg Rowe. of Belton. He was ejected from the motorcycle and transported to Cannon Memorial Hospital where he later died.

According to Kelly, Horn was wearing a helmet. Speed appears to have been a factor in the wreck.

Rowe was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
