Marine NCO Pleads In Hazing Case

BEAUFORT, S.C. -

A noncommissioned Marine officer at the Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station has pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and two counts of violating the Marine hazing policy.

 

The Beaufort Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1aLnv7L ) Staff Sgt. Justin Samford entered the pleas at a court-martial last week. Capt. Jordan Cochran said Samford is on 45 days restriction and will forfeit two-thirds of his salary for a month.

 

Cochran said he did not know the specific details of the incidents.

 

A second Marine, Gunnery Sgt. James McArthur, also is charged with violating the hazing policy, maltreatment and obstructing justice. His court-martial is set for September.
