Wofford golfer Cory Taylor shot an opening round 65 at the Country Club of Spartanburg Friday to take a three stroke lead at the Spartanburg County Amateur.

Taylor leads Ray Ranking by three strokes entering Saturday's second round.

At the Greenville County Amateur, Ben Goforth, Benji McCall, and Casey Owens each shot four-under par 68s to shar the lead by two strokes over the field at Fox Run Country Club.
