A man is dead following a wreck in Spartanburg County early Monday evening.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger stated that 38-year-old Brian Lee Arrington, of Pauline, died in a wreck less than a mile from his home.

According to Lance Cpl. Tony Keller, the wreck happened at 6:22 p.m. on Old Hills Bridge Road in Pauline. Keller stated that the driver, identified as Arrington, was headed east on Old Hills Bridge Road when he ran off the road and struck a tree. Arrington was not wearing a seatbelt and had to be removed from the vehicle by mechanical equipment.

Clevenger said that Arrington was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
