DACUSVILLE, S.C. -

One Upstate community has a new tool to help fight wildfires.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission will present a brush truck to the Dacusville Fire Department during a special hand-off ceremony on Thursday.

The truck comes from agency in an other state which no longer needs it. The Chevy 2500 4X4 is equipped with off-road capability and large water carrying and discharging capacity. That can help control advancing fires in difficult terrain.

In recent years, the Dacusville community experienced an 80- to 90-acre wildfire. This new equipment will help prevent that from happening again.
