All clear given to 2 Falls Lake beaches

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Two swimming areas at Falls Lake are back open after being closed due to elevated levels of bacteria.

Officials closed Sandling Beach and Beaverdam Beach on Tuesday after the water tested positive for elevated levels of the E.coli bacteria.

Wake County routinely tests recreational lakes for bacteria and when levels exceed EPA standards, the area is closed.

The county samples the lakes weekly during the summer.
