Upstate Team Set To Play California Squad For Big League World Series U.S. Title

The West team from Thousand Oaks, California defeated the host team from Easley Sunday afternoon, 2-1, to secure a meeting with the Upstate team, representing the Southeast region, Tuesday afternoon at the Big League World Series in Easley.

Saturday night, the Upstate team, used a wild pitch to score the game's only run and held on for a 1-0 victory over the host team Saturday night at the Red Owens Complex.

Clark Scolamiero came home on the third inning play.

Leftfielder Ki-Jana Madden made a diving catch of Robert Kosch's fly down the left field line with one out and runners on first and second in the top of the seventh inning to help preserve the win.

The Southeast squad is 3-0.  It has a game Monday that won't factor in its Tuesday meeting.
