News Channel 11 has learned a Kingsport man wanted for attempting to break into a church and burglarizing a storage builidng is now behind bars.

The Kingsport Police Department Jeremy R. Stout, 28, has been arrested for two counts of burglary, attempted burglary and attempted theft.

Investigators caught up with Stout early Monday morning after receiving a tip that he was at Lee Apartments on Dale Street in Kingsport.

Police say on May 12, a woman came arrived at her home on Nathan Street to find the suspect in her storage building. Investigators also found out that he also tried to break into the home. Stout allegedly returned to the storage building, during the night, and stole a Cub Cadet push mower and DVD player. The lawnmower was later recovered at Stout's residence.

Then on May 20, investigators say Stout threw a rock through the window of Holy Mountain Baptist Church on Ashley Street in Kingsport. After breaking the window, Stout allegedly climbed on a heat pump to enter the church through the broken window, but the church's burglar alarm system activated - so he fled. Stout apparently left some blood on the scene – it's believed he cut himself on the broken glass while trying to break into the building.
