Central, SC -

Pickens County authorities say that a body pulled from a creek is that of a missing man who was swept away during flooding Tuesday night.

Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark said that the body of a man, identified as 23-year-old Logan Dale Evans, of Central, was pulled from the creek off of Silver Creek Road in Central around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Clark stated that the man's family had reported him missing Wednesday afternoon after he did not return home last night. Upon further investigation, it has been determined that Evans vehicle was swept into the creek after Silver Creek Road became flooded with between 4-to-10 feet of water in some areas.

Dive teams from the Pickens County Emergency Management Team, along with search and rescue workers, recovered the body about mile from where the vehicle went off the road. Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley stated that Evans was found on his families' nearby property.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, Kelley said.
