Update: Friday, August, 9, 2013

Two New Jersey officials say 16 workers from a county garage in Toms River have one of the three winning tickets in the $448 million Powerball jackpot.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department Director Jim Pine and Freeholder Jack Kelly say the employees have the ticket sold at an Acme Markets store in Little Egg Harbor.

Pine says they're a group of "wonderful, hardworking people," who showed up for work on Thursday.

Paul White, a 45-year-old project engineer from Ham Lake, Minn., claimed his third of the jackpot Thursday. He's taking a lump sum, which will amount to $58.3 million after taxes.

The holder of the third ticket, also from New Jersey, hasn't come forward yet. That ticket was sold in a supermarket in central New Jersey.

A project engineer from a northwest Minneapolis suburb has come forward to claim one-third of a $448 million Powerball jackpot.

Paul White, of Ham Lake, was introduced Thursday afternoon at a news conference at the Minnesota State Lottery's headquarters.

The other two winning tickets were sold in New Jersey.

White says he learned he was holding a winning ticket Thursday morning after his "significant other" called him to say one of three winners had been sold in Minnesota. He says he purchased two tickets for Wednesday's drawing, and found one matched all six numbers.

At least three people in two states will split the $448 million Powerball jackpot.

Lottery officials say two winning tickets were sold in New Jersey and one was sold in Minnesota.

Minnesota lottery officials say that state's winning Powerball jackpot ticket was sold in Anoka County.

New Jersey lottery officials say one of the winning tickets in that state was purchased at a Super Stop & Shop store in South Brunswick. The other one was bought at an Acme Markets store in Little Egg Harbor.

Phil Weber, the director of the Acme store, says he's just happy that, in his words, "someone's life is changing for the positive."

No winners have come forward yet.

The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 05, 25, 30, 58, 59 and Powerball 32.

Winning Numbers Drawn - August 7, 2013

The winning numbers have been drawn for the $448 million Powerball jackpot.

The numbers drawn Wednesday night were: 05, 25, 30, 58, 59 and Powerball 32.

At the time of the telecast, Powerball officials announced that the jackpot previously pegged at $425 million had grown to an estimated $448 million.

The allure of capturing such a rich jackpot has had players in a ticket-buying frenzy, further confirming Powerball players often don't get into the game until the jackpot offers big bucks.

A recent game change increased the frequency of huge jackpots, and Wednesday's third largest-ever jackpot comes only months after the biggest Powerball jackpot in history - a $590 million pot won in Florida.
