GREENVILLE, S.C. -

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will announce her intention to run for a second term in Greenville later this month.

Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey confirms Monday the governor will announce her intention to run for another term during a rally at The Bi-Lo Center on August 26.

U.S. Senator Tim Scott will emcee the rally that is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

Three fellow governors are scheduled to appear at the rally: Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Texas Governor Rick Perry and Wisconsin governor Scott Walker.

All three visiting governors are considered to be possible contenders for the 2016 Republican Party presidential nomination.

"We got such a huge response to the news that America's leading Governors, Walker, Jindal, and Perry are coming to Greenville, that we decided to expand our events to include a grassroots rally," said Godfrey is a written statement. "And once we did that, Governor Haley decided that we might as well make it official - she's running for reelection."

Democratic State Senator Vincent Sheheen - who Haley defeated for the office in 2010 - has already declared his intention to run for the office for a second time.
