Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris reiterated Tuesday how impressed the Tigers coaching staff is with former Daniel High star C.J. Davidson, a walk-on running back, who's been impressive during preseason camp.
Morris says he trusts Davidson and could see him getting important carries in the opener against Georgia.
Senior Rod McDowell holds down the starting job and sophomore Zac Brooks has also drawn Morris' praise.
Junior D.J. Howard is another veteran in the backfield while true freshmen Wayne Gallman and Tyshawn Dye have also been given opportunities during August practice.
Clemson wrapped-up its preseason camp Tuesday and resumes practice Thursday as it now focuses on that opener August 31st.
