AMC's Breaking Bad cuts ties with Raleigh-based charity

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

"Breaking Bad", one of the most popular shows on TV, is cutting ties with Raleigh charity.

The AMC hit severed ties with The National Cancer Coalition after an investigation called it one of the worst in America.

The Tampa Bay Times ranked the 50 worst charities in America based on the percentage of money that goes to outside fundraiser's. The National Cancer Coalition, based in downtown Raleigh, has raised more than $41.5 million over the past decade but has spent less than $43,000 annually on direct cash aid.

There is no set amount on how much charities must spend on cash aid.  The National Cancer Coalition did not respond for comment.

The official website for "Breaking Bad" linked to the National Cancer Coalition through a page setup like one on the show.
