DH Conley wins season opener, New Bern falls

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

One year ago DH Conley knocked off North Pitt with a devastating late touchdown. In the rematch on Saturday it took them about a half to settle in, but once they did it was really all Vikings.

Conley used their running game to control the game. Myles Taylor, Jonathan Shrock and Bam Staton all found the endzone for the Vikings in the 36-15 victory.

Senior Quarterback Davion Council led the way for the Panthers in a losing effort.

The other Saturday night game was down in New Bern where the Bears played host to Hillside. The defending 4A state champs were upset in their home opener. Hillside won 27 to 24 in overtime.

New Bern will be back in action next week against the 3A champs Havelock. That will be our game of the week on Touchdown Friday!
