ANDERSON, SC -

A man died after falling out of a SUV in Anderson early Sunday morning.

Corporal Bill Rhyne of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that the incident happened at 2:58 a.m. at Beaty Square. While the accident is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol, Rhyne stated that a occupant in a 2002 Chevrolet SUV driven by 23-year-old Eric Tyler Watson, of Anderson, fell out of the vehicle as it was headed east on Beaty Square.

The victim was pronounced dead, while the conditions of two other occupants in the vehicle were not immediately known. Rhyne said that Watson was charged with driving under the influence.

The investigation is ongoing. Attempts to reach the Anderson County Coroner's Office concerning the victim's identity were not returned.
