ASHEVILLE, N.C. -

Mission Hospital in Asheville is laying off some workers to reduce costs.

Mission Health President and CEO Dr. Ron Paulus said the hospital will lay off fewer than 70 employees in the budget move.

Paulus says the hospital will work to find another job for those affected.

Mission Health says it expects to lose about $350 million in funding over the next decade. The hospital says it has been dealing with federal budget cuts, health care reform, and the state's decision not to expand the Medicaid program.

Paulus says he's cutting his own pay by 26 percent next year. Pay for senior hospital leaders also will be reduced.

Three vice president positions have been eliminated.

The hospital says it will give no raises next year.
