A lottery ticket worth half a million dollars was sold in Spartanburg.

The South Carolina Education Lottery says a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket worth $500,000 was sold at Piedmont Petro Corner Mart on Chesnee Highway.

The ticket pulled in Monday evening's drawing matched all five numbers.

The numbers for Monday were 1, 2, 16, 19, and 36   Power-Up: 5 

This is the second big winner in August from Spartanburg.

A winning Powerball ticket was sold two weeks ago worth $1 million. The player picked his winning numbers at the Li'l Cricket on Boiling Springs Road.
