Blood Connection Asking For Donations Due To Low Supplies

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

The Blood Connection is asking for help with blood donations.

The upstate organization said Tuesday that their supplies are unusually low, and are asking the community to help with replenishing blood levels. Organization spokesperson Aileen Johnson said that all blood types are needed, especially "O-negative," "O-positive," "B-negative" and "B-positive." The supplies are important because they need to maintain adequate levels to help support the needs of area hospitals and patients.

In order to donate blood, people must weigh at least 110-pounds and be 17-years-old or 16-years-old with written consent. You can make an appointment by calling 1-800-392-6551 visit one of the following locations below:
