GREENVILLE, S.C. -

An Upstate funeral home owner is in hot water with the state.

The State of South Carolina is fining Ulrick Thompson $1,500.

According to court documents, he operated S.C. Franks Mortuary in Greenville after his retail license had been revoked.

We first told you last summer he was arrested for operating the funeral home without a license. He pleaded guilty to that charge in February.

The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs has also launched an investigation into S.C. Franks Mortuary.

7 On Your Side reached out to Thompson several times to get his side of the story, but he has not returned our calls.
