Deputies Search For Gunman In Deadly Armed Robbery In Greenville Co

Theodore Ross McClellan, 29, of Greenville, is deceased Saturday morning, after being fatally shot during a robbery Friday night in Greenville.

According to the Greenville County Coroner's Office, McClellan was found dead upon the arrival of deputies at the Illusions Smoke Shop on Poinsett Highway just after 7:30 Friday night. 

7 On Your Side spoke with Mclellan's brother at the smoke shop. He said the family is devastated that Theodore is gone and they're asking you to report anything know about the shooting.

Some store owners said they were afraid to speak to 7 On Your Side because they didn't want the gunman to return. Some even said they were considering moving locations because of previous armed robberies in the area.


The suspect involved in the shooting remains at large and the Sheriff's Office needs the public's help. If you have any details pertaining to last night's shooting, you are asked to give the Greenville County Sheriff's Office a call.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office tells 7 On Your Side one man is dead following an armed robbery at the Illusions Smoke Shop at 290 Poinsett Highway.

The Sheriff’s Office reports the robber entered the store with a gun around 7:40 Friday night. He demanded money from the employee, shot the employee at least once and ran from the scene.

Deputies say they are searching for the shooter. He is a light-skinned black male with a goatee. At the time he was wearing a long sleeve camouflage shirt, dark pants and a ball cap.
