Update: 7:50 a.m.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol tells 7 On Your Side that the accident is cleared from the road.  Troopers are working to clear up the congestion that resulted from the accident.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says that a portion of I-26 in Henderson County is closed due to an accident Wednesday morning.   DOT officials say all westbound lanes are closed near exit 49 (US-64) near Hendersonville.  This is the main exit for Hendersonville and Bat Cave.

Use caution in the area and prepare for delays.
