Seneca Man Dies In One Car Accident

Posted: Updated:
SENECA, S.C. - The Highway Patrol says a Seneca man is dead after a one car accident in Oconee County.

Troopers say it happened around 4:20 pm Saturday on Wolf Stake Church Road, about three miles north of Walhalla.

Troopers say the car ran off the road and struck a tree.

They say a 29 year old woman riding in the car was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The Oconee County Coroner's Office says the driver, 47 year old Jason Patrick Smith, died at the scene from a head injury and other blunt force trauma injuries.

The coroner also says Smith was not wearing a seat belt in the late 60's model Chevrolet Camaro, which they say he was restoring.
