EASLEY, S.C. -

Easley Police are looking for two men accused of robbing a convenience store at gunpoint and firing a shot at the clerk. It happened Tuesday, September 10th at the Quick Stop on Liberty Drive.

Investigators say Terrance and Tevis Johnson fired a shot at the clerk, which did not hit her, before running off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses say the pair got into a gray or silver Ford Taurus, driven by a white female.

Easley Police and Pickens County Sheriff's Deputies found the car a short time later on Adger Road. The car took off, when police tried to pull the driver over. While officers were trying to stop the car, the driver ran off the road and hit a power pole. All three people inside were taken to the hospital.

Police tell us Terrance and Tevis Johnson walked off from the hospital, before they could be arrested or charged.

The hospital sent us a statement saying, "While we cannot discuss any specifics of these patients' conditions due to federal privacy laws, these patients left the treatment area without being discharged. GHS patients who are not under arrest are entitled to the same patients rights as other patients in the hospital."

The pair face armed robbery, attempted murder and weapons charges.

"The Easley Police Department's first priority was to give medical assistance to both suspects, as they appeared by medical staff to be injured from the wreck, following the pursuit." said Major Tim Tollison with the Easley Police Department. "Steps were in place to take custody of both suspects upon release from the hospital. These steps have been the common practice for law enforcement in similar situations. Certainly these events have triggered a review of procedures that were in place and adjustments will be made accordingly for future situations such as these by the Easley Police Department."
