GREENVILLE, S.C. -
The remains of six veterans - who were never claimed - will be laid to rest with military honors Friday in Columbia.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office had a ceremony for the veterans - who were never claimed by family members - before they were taken from the Upstate to Greenville.

The Patriot Guard was among the organizations escorting the remains for the trip to Columbia for an afternoon ceremony at Fort Jackson.

The remains are held in urns created by carpentry students at the Department of Juvenile Justice.
