A man was arrested and charged after he was found in a secured area at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport early Monday night.

Robert Paul Craig, 51, of Taylorsville, Georgia, was arrested and charged with trespassing, violations of rules and regulations of the airport and possession of a controlled substance.

Airport spokeswoman Rosylin Weston stated that the incident happened at 6:15 p.m. when an employee noticed a man, identified as Craig, climb a fence in the secured garden area of the airport. Police responded and apprehended Craig within minutes of receiving the report.

Craig was questioned and subsequently charged as a result of the incident, which Weston said did not impact airlines, passengers or the normal operations of the airport.

According to Weston, this is the second time this year that Craig has been arrested and charged with trespassing at the airport. In June, Craig was charged with trespassing after he was found in the parking lot of Stevens Aviation on the airport's property.
