Spartanburg Woman Finds Gun Buried In Her Rose Garden

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -
Spartanburg Public Safety says a woman found a gun buried in the rose garden in the back yard of her home.

The incident report says the woman was digging in the yard in the home on Cresent Avenue Monday morning when she found the weapon buried about six inches deep.

The woman thought it was a toy at first, but decided to contact police. She has lived at the home for 60 years.

Police say the gun was a small caliber revolver with a black plastic grip.The serial number couldn't be read because of rust and dirt.

The officer wasn't sure if the weapon was loaded according to the SPS incident report.
