Dorman traveled to Dutch Fork in a battle of AAAA teams ranked among the state's top ten in their last game before the start of the conference season.

Greenwood faced a Spartanburg County team for the second time in three weeks when the Eagles traveled to Spartanburg. The defending AAAA Division II champions lost to the Cavaliers at home on September 6.

Other featured games included Boiling Springs at Rock Hill, Byrnes at Clinton, unbeaten Chapman at Mid-Carolina, Greenville at Greer, Laurens at Woodruff and Fairfield Central at Union County.
