GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -

A hearing has been scheduled for Monday morning in Greenville County after a 12-year-old was charged in the death of a 15-year-old.

The juvenile is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Trayvon Dodd, 15, was found dead in the backyard of a home on Woodleigh Drive on September 11.

The 12-year-old was questioned about the incident and was later charged.

Involuntary manslaughter is defined as the reckless disregard of the safety of others in South Carolina.

Authorities say that the 12-year-old was criminally negligent, but there is no evidence of malice at this time.

The juvenile was placed in the Greenville County Juvenile Detention Center.
