A alleged carjacking attempt led a woman to be arrested and charged with filing a false police report Tuesday night.

Greenville Police Department spokesman Johnathan Bragg said that the unidentified woman reported to police that she was the victim of an attempted carjacking at the intersection of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Karen Drive. According to Bragg, the woman told officers that two men approached her car and tried to carjack her and then fled the area. Officers searched the area, but were unable to find the suspects.

During the course of the investigation, Bragg stated that officers determined that evidence did not match the woman's story and she had made it up.
