An officer-involved shooting early Sunday morning, resulted in the death of an Asheville man. The Asheville Police Department responded to an address in West Asheville around 7:30 a.m. for a burglary in progress.

Officers say the suspect ran away, and led them on a chase. Asheville Police say the suspect was seen with a gun in his hand near the Meadows Apartments, and was later confronted on New Leicester Highway.

Officers say the suspect refused to cooperate with commands and was shot by an officer.
