Accomplished young violinist RAY CHEN is on tour in North America, and will be performing in the Upstate for one night only, this Thursday Oct 3, 7:30pm at the Cultural Center Auditorium on Lander University campus in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Taiwan and raised in Australia, Ray was accepted to the Curtis Institute of Music at age 15, where he studied with Aaron Rosand and was supported by Young Concert Artists. He plays the 1702 "Lord Newlands" Stradivarius violin on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation.

This distinguished performance kicks off the 2013-2014 performing arts series at GLPA (Greenwood-Lander Performing Arts). Each show in the series is one night only.

Other performances in the series: award-winning vocalist SANDI PATTY, Dallas Brass ensemble, Cantus men's vocal ensemble, Celtic Nights song and dance troupe.  Now is also the last chance to get a Season Pass: all 5 shows at a $25 savings plus priority seating and other member benefits.

The Performing Arts series takes place on a university campus, but many people don't understand it is available and open to the public. Buy advance tickets or season tickets at <>, or by calling (864) 388-8326. GLPA is also on Facebook.
