OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. - The Oconee County coroner has ruled the death of 77 year old Robert Bruce Graffis was an accidental drowning.

Coroner Addis says it appears Graffis drowned while he was in the process of launching his fishing boat ramp at Marina Drive.

Addis says the Graffis was reported missing around 6:45 p.m. by his family after he was reported missing. The coroner’s office says that Graffis left his home around 2:00 p.m. Saturday to return his fishing boat back to a boat slip at Keowee Key marina. The car with the boat trailer attached was found by his wife parked at the boat ramp where investigators estimate he had launched the boat between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.
