The Spartan burg Youth Theatre kicks off its exciting 2013-14 production season with the hilarious children's musical Miss Nelson is Missing, based on the beloved books by Henry Ballard. Miss Nelson will hit the Chapman Cultural Center stage on October 11 at 4:30 and & 7:00 pm and on October 12 at 2:00 pm.
The kids in Miss Nelson's Room 207 were misbehaving again: spitballs stuck to the ceiling, paper planes whizzing through the air. They were the worst-behaved class in the whole school! But when Miss Nelson disappears, and the mean-looking, detention-loving, recess-canceling, homework-overloading substitute teacher Viola Swamp takes her place, the children are so desperate, they hire a detective to find Miss Nelson in this wacky whodunit musical the whole family will enjoy!
"We are so thrilled to bring another musical to the ST stage," says Deana Nimbler, Spartan burg Youth Theatre's Managing Director. "The Miss Nelson children's books are so much fun to read, and the songs really bring this story to life."
Tickets to Miss Nelson is Missing are $12 for adults and $9 for students, and can be purchased by phone at 542-2787 or online at www.chapmanculturalcenter.org.
