Search Called Off For McDowell Co. B & E Suspect

McDowell County, NC -

McDowell County sheriff’s office said the ground search for a break-in suspect, Christopher Wade Shuping, 21, of Rutherford County, in the Nix Creek and Lytle Mountain Road areas has been called off for now.

Deputies will maintain a presence in the area and will follow up on any leads about the suspect.

Residents are encouraged to go about their business as usual but keep their property secured and call communications at 652-4000 if they see anything suspicious.

Shuping is still wanted for questioning in McDowell and also has outstanding warrants in Rutherford County for failure to appear and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Shuping is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 172 pounds, has brown hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, and is still considered armed and dangerous.
