Three People Arrested, One Wanted In Rutherford Co. Drug Bust

RUTHERFORDTON, NC -

Three people were arrested and another is being sought after a lengthy drug investigation by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in Rutherford County.

A spokesman for the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office stated that Elijah Thaddeus Edgerton, 25, of Forest City, was charged with three counts of distribution of cocaine and one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine. Thirty-two year old Jacqueline Shanay Parks, also of Forest City, was charged with two counts of distribution of cocaine and one count each of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm in the furtherance of drug trafficking. Thirty-year-old Tony Obryon Thompson, 30, of Forest City, was charged with 11 counts of distribution of cocaine and one count each of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession of firearm by a felon and possession of a firearm in the furtherance of drug trafficking crime.

The other suspect, Jamison Darren Jones, 47, of Forest City, is wanted for two counts of distribution of cocaine and one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm in the furtherance of drug trafficking crime.

According to the sheriff's office, sheriff's deputies and Forest City Police Officers executed search warrants on Wednesday that led to the arrest of Edgerton, Thjompson and Parks. The warrants were the result of a investigation initiated by the sheriff's office in late 2012 and led with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, North Carolina State Bureau of InvestigationIredell County Sheriff's Office and Forest City Police, led to the seizure of several ounces of crack cocaine and firearms.

All three suspects are being held at the Rutherford County Detention center untilt hey can be transported to the Federal facility in Asheville on federal charges.
