A man wanted for kidnapping in Anderson County was arrested Wednesday morning near Walhalla.

Oconee County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Watt said that the sheriff's office received a call from the U.S. Marshals notifying them that Shannon Necoma Smith, was wanted for kidnapping and was possibly at an address in Henson Lane, near Walhalla.

As deputies responded to search for Smith, Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw placed a nearby school, James M. Smith was located a short time later at a home on Henson Lane and taken into custody and back to Anderson County.
