SPARTANBURG, S.C. - New testing by the Spartanburg Water System shows PCB contamination at the Cowpens facility likely comes from cross-contamination said system General Manager Sue Schneider.

7 On Your Side joined the water system and an outside contractor as they tested more than 40 new grease traps for contamination in late September.

The new testing did not find new contamination.

Prior testing of Upstate grease traps showed contamination that was likely the result of illegal dumping.

No one has been charged with the contamination which will cost upstate sewer treatment facilities millions to clean up.
