RALEIGH, N.C. -

Police are investigating two unrelated incidents that occurred in the last two days near North Carolina State University.

Raleigh Police say a man was injured Monday night during a home invasion at an apartment complex near N.C. State.

Police say they are looking for three or four suspects described as black males. The suspects are believed to have unlawfully entered an apartment in the Parkwood Village Apartments off Gorman Street near Conifer Drive around 8:53 p.m.

Two men were inside the apartment at the time of the incident, and one of the men suffered a non-life threatening injury to the leg.

An officer on scene told a witness that there had been a shooting, but Raleigh Police could not confirm if that was the source of the leg injury.

The witness said one person was taken away in an ambulance.

The second incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A female non-student was walking on Morrill Drive near the Dail Softball complex when she said she was approached by a man who demanded money from her. After demanding the money, the male suspect began to hit the victim in the face and head with an object.

The suspect in this incident is described as a black male, 40 to 50 years old, about 6 feet tall and heavy set with a full beard.

Dozens of people gathered Saturday afternoon to rally against the state's "Stand Your Ground," law, saying it amounts to "legal lynching." The group, Moms Demand Action, said the South Carolina law, first passed in 2006, causes gun violence and is exploited as a defense.
