Hillsborough demoted school administrator fights for reputation

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

Nearly a year after a special needs student died at Rodgers Middle School, the aftermath continues for the school's former assistant principal. Shawn Livingston was demoted from administrator to teacher, after an in-depth investigation by the Hillsborough County School Board.

Livingston went before the School Board in August at a termination hearing to dispute the decision. He said he wasn't fighting for his old job back, but wanted to restore his professional reputation.

The Board is expected to announce its decision Tuesday afternoon.

Jenny Caballero, 11, wandered away from the Rodgers Middle School gym in Oct. 22, 2012. Her body was later discovered in a nearby retention pond.
