Garden Fresh Foods Recalls More Ready-To-Eat Meat Products

WASHINGTON, D.C. -

Garden Fresh Food is recalling over 6,500 pounds of ready-to-eat meat products due to possible listeria contamination.

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that the Milwaukee-based company is recalling 6,694 additional pounds of ready-to-eat chicken and ham products due to possible contamination with listeria monocytogenes. The recall is the second in a month for the company, which recalled 19,054 pounds of similar product on September 25.

 The products being recalled have the establishment number EST. 17256 or Est. P-17256 inside the USDA mark of inspection, and were distributed to retail and food service establishments nationwide. The products included in the recall were produced between October 10-15. However, no illnesses associated with the products have been reported, the USDA says.

People with food safety questions can use the "Ask Karen" system 24 hours a day or call the USDA Meat and Poultry hotline at 1-888-674-6854 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
