Budget Deal: How eastern Carolina representatives voted

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - The government shutdown might be over and 800,000 federal employees back at work, but the damage from the 16-day manufactured crisis still lingers.

The shutdown cost America $24-billion.

And a few of eastern Carolina’s local representatives voted against the reopen Wednesday night.

Walter B. Jones, the Republican serving District 3 here in the east, voted to keep the government closed, along with 5 other representatives in our state.

Democrats GK Butterfield of District 1 and Mike McIntyre of District 7 voted to open the government, along with 5 others.

Both N.C. senators, including Republican Richard Burr, also voted to open the government.
