Lake Lure, NC - After three years of designing, planning, planting and repurposing, you are now able to cross Lake Lure Flowering Bridge.

The bridge located in Lake Lure, North Carolina had its grand opening Saturday morning with thousands from more than 30 states waiting to cross it.

“It’s a bridge that connects people and places” said Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Flowering Bridge, Bill Miller. “it’s going to bring a lot of people who have never been here before” Miller continued.
   

The historic bridge turned pedestrian walkway is now home to more than 700 different species of plants and flowers.
