SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an accident on the New Cut Road Bridge at Interstate I-26 Monday morning.

The bridge was blocked to traffic for an hour and a half due to the incident that occurred just after 6:30 a.m.

According to troopers, a tractor trailer was driving east on I-26 when the driver exited onto the ramp at New Cut Road. Investigators say the truck pulled out in front of a car, causing a wreck.
 
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital where he was listed in fair condition.

Troopers cited the driver of the tractor trailer with failure to yield right away.

The accident was cleared shortly after 8 a.m.
