RALEIGH, N.C. -

A 1980 class ring found by a Raleigh man two weeks ago has now been returned to its rightful owner.

Marvin Kirby found the ring, which came from Shawnee Mission, Kansas, at Lake Benson Park earlier this month.

Kirby called the school where it came from, hoping to find the owner of the ring.

This past weekend Kirby was able to hand the ring over to its owner, who now lives in Virginia near Washington, DC.

The owner contacted Kirby after learning he found it. The owner drove down to meet Kirby and to get the ring.
