Police say a mother left her toddler at home alone while she went to work.

Union Police say the 3-year-old left the house, crossed a 4 lane road and made it to a Lil Cricket a few blocks away.

Witnesses say he was wearing only diapers and a t-shirt. It was 55 degrees out when it happened Sunday.

Police have charged the mother, 29-year-old Tanika Eison Sims with unlawful conduct towards a child.

The toddler was placed in protective custody.
